RVV cable, also known as sheathed flexible wire, is round multi‑core flexible electrical cable. It consists of multiple strands of fine copper conductors, PVC core‑insulation for each core, and overall PVC outer protective sheath. Available in 1‑core, 2‑core, 3‑core, 4‑core, 5‑core, 6‑core versions, RVV5 stands for 5‑core specification.

Fine‑stranded copper gives good bending performance. PVC insulation and sheath provide basic oil‑resistance, anti‑aging and mechanical protection. Mainly used for indoor low‑voltage power supply and control signal transmission, suitable for fixed installation or mobile wiring of electrical equipment. Widely applied in distribution cabinets, automation equipment, household appliances, security monitoring, lighting engineering. Q1: Difference between RVV and RVVP?

A: RVV: ordinary multi‑core flexible cable without shielding. RVVP: RVV plus overall copper braid shielding, used where anti‑EMI interference is needed for weak‑signal circuits.

Q2: Can RVV cable be buried directly underground?

A: Not recommended. RVV outer sheath is ordinary PVC, poor resistance to soil corrosion and UV. If buried, must run inside protective conduit.

Q3: What is the difference between RVV and BV cable?

A: BV is single‑core solid hard copper wire for fixed laying. RVV is multi‑core flexible stranded‑copper sheathed cable for flexible or mobile wiring scenarios.

Q4: What is ZR‑RVV?

A: ZR means flame‑retardant. ZR‑RVV is flame‑retardant RVV version, slows flame spread, widely used in public building projects.

Q5: Can RVV transmit both power and signal together?

A: It can carry low‑voltage power and common switch control signals. Not suitable for high‑speed differential signals (LVDS, USB etc.) without shielding; for high‑speed signal choose RVVP shielded cable.
